Scottsdale Fashion Week - 2010
Now in its fifth year, Scottsdale Fashion Week celebrates fashion, lifestyle and beauty. Up-and-coming trendsetters, alongside nationally and internationally renowned names, will show their collections during dozens of shows at Scottsdale Fashion Square Drive north of the new Barneys New York. Fashion icons like Kevan Hall, Luca Luca, Ted Baker and Lloyd Klein, as well as an impressive retailer line up from Scottsdale Fashion Square, will grace the runway with their vibrant and fashion forward creations.
The event features an 80-foot tented runway and an outdoor catwalk under the Sonoran Desert stars. All shows are complemented by live music and VIP lounges offering a taste of luxury and fashion.
Scottsdale Fashion Week aims to create a sustainable event that will not only offer fashion shows, but also charitable and educational components as well. Half of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to support the Junior League of Phoenix mission for voluntarism and early childhood education and development. An educational forum is offered on Saturday, November 6 including an impressive array of speakers and demonstrations for those that are looking to advance their fashion knowledge.
Recognizing the importance and talent of the local design and fashion community, Scottsdale Fashion Week is focusing the Thursday night activities on Community Night. Showcasing the talents of local apparel and accessories designers, interior designers, fashion students, models and hair and makeup stylists, attendance is a must. Participation in the Model Search and Designer of the Year Competition are additional ways for the local community to take an active part in all of the activities associated with Scottsdale Fashion Week.
